In St. Clement's Church there's a brass plaque memorializing 65664John and 65665Margaret. The plaque used to be embedded in the church's floor but has been since been pulled up, attached to a piece of wood, and hung nearby on the church's wall. The inscription reads, "Pray for the soules of John Ips and Margaret hys wyfe on whois Almighti ihu have mercy Amen." In more modern English this might read, "Pray for the souls of John Ips and his wife Margaret, on whose souls Almighty Jesus has mercy. Amen." 1

The plaque's outline can still be seen in the church's stone floor.2 As a size reference, the £20 note on the floor is 14.9 x 8 centimeters.
